Washita Chapter NSDAR monthly meeting report

September 8, 2025 the Washita Chapter held the first meeting of their new year at the Café Clinton. The meeting was opened with the Vice-Regent Marci Grant leading the NSDAR opening ritual, assisting her was the Chaplain, Robetha Fariss.

Cordell’s own Calliy Walker has done it again! The talented runner claimed the title of Regional Cross Country Champion for the second year in a row, proving once more that her hard work and determination continue to keep her on the rise.

Washita Co. Commissioners minutes

Now on the 6th day of October 2025, the County Commissioners in and for Washita County met in regular session with Chairman Gossen calling the meeting to order.Gossen asked Kristen Dowell, County Clerk, for roll call. Roll call was answered by Gossen, present; Gray, present; Chandler, present.

Washita County OSU Extension is hosting a Barn Quilt Workshop on Thursday, November 13th from 9:30am-3:00pm at the Washita County Activity Center, 1005 East 3rd Street, Cordell. A $25 registration fee includes all supplies, snacks and light lunch.

Korben Gossen from Corn, OK in Washita County recently placed first in the White Bread Category of the Junior Division at the State “Best of Wheat” Bread Baking contest held on September 21st at the Oklahoma State Fair.
