SH-55 closes in Rocky in Washita County Wednesday

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation has advised that east and westbound SH-55 will be closed between US-183 and Elm St. in Rocky in Washita County from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday September 9th for repairs to the railroad crossing by Grainbelt Railroad.

Local COVID-19 Update

The number of people in Washita County testing positive for COVID-19 stands at 43 and that’s an increase of only six in the last 2 ½ weeks. These are the numbers as provided by the Oklahoma State Health Department through Monday of this week.

Brady Reimer of Cordell, son of Mike and Amanda Reimer, caught and immediately released this enormous fish on the lower Illinois River near the Tenkiller dam. He wasn’t able to get an official weight, but most agree that it would weigh in at between thirty and forty pounds. Good job Brady!
