•Cordell Fire Dept. will be selling baked potatoes with brisket Saturday evening, May 22. Cost is $10 each. •Cordell Lions Club will hold its annual golf tournament on Saturday, May 22nd.

The total number testing positive in the county is now 1,081. It was 1,079 at the last reporting, an increase of only two. It was 1,075 three weeks ago. Four weeks ago the number was 1,074. 1,059 cases have recovered.

Brody Bullard was born on July 28, 2002, in Elk City, Oklahoma. Growing up he attended Canute Public Schools all the way from kindergarten to his senior year. Brody’s favorite hobbies include: playing the drums, listening to music, playing video games, and playing airsoft.

Length of time for the project, what side of town will be worked on, and the possibility to lose water were some of the things discussed during the meeting.

During Cordell’s recent utility authority board meeting, the board voted to approve its plans for the project to improve the Cordell water distribution system.

Cordell’s Upper Elementary Academic Team, consisting of fifth and sixth graders, recently won the District, Regional, and Area meets. “We won all three! This is the first time in the 6 years since we started the elementary team that this has happened,” Coach Kathy Wedel said.

Local man wins Best of Show at car expo

Eddie Brown of Cordell won the prestigious Best of Show award at Altus Rock N Rumble on Saturday, May 1st with his 1932 Ford Cabriolet Convertible. He also placed first in the street rod competition. He is the owner of Eddie Brown Motors at 926 N. Glenn English in Cordell.
