2025-2026 School year DAR Good Citizen Award Recipients announced

Emma Christian has been selected as the DAR Good Citizen for Cordell High School for 2025-2026. Washita Chapter NSDAR sponsors this program each year for 20 area high schools. The DAR Good Citizen Program and Scholarship Contest is intended to encourage and reward the qualities of good citizenship.

No injuries in Cordell structure fire

The Cordell Fire Department responded to a structure fire on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at 815 N. Market Street in Cordell.Firefighters were dispatched at 12:50 p.m. and arrived on scene within minutes, finding moderate smoke coming from a detached garage.

The Blue Devil Pee Wee wrestling team delivered an outstanding performance at the Southwest Regional Wrestling Tournament held in Norman on February 14, 2026, with numerous athletes earning top finishes and advancing to the prestigious state competition.

Washita County 4-H Share-the-Fun Talent Show was held Monday, February 2nd at the Burns Flat-Dill City (BF/DC) High School. The BF/DC Senior 4-H Club hosted the event with Kathryn Sirmon emceeing, Abby Sirmon and Paige Brittain presented ribbons and Larissa Mason working behind the scenes.
