Washita County Emergency Manager Kenneth Trent is still taking applications for safe rooms for residents that reside in Washita County. The rebate is $2,000 through the grant.
There needs to be 75 applicants to be able to apply for the grant.
Initially, Trent will be able to provide rebates for up to 50 safe rooms. If more people apply, he will be able to provide these funds to more interested residents. To be eligible for the program, the person must first be a Washita County resident. Each resident will then need to be the homeowner, it must be for their primary residence and not an income property and may not be seeking a rebate on a safe room that is already installed.
