WTC Board of Education honored in January

January was School Board Recognition Month and an opportunity for local schools and communities to honor Oklahoma’s more than 2,700 elected school board members for their dedication to education.

“Providing an equipped workforce for western Oklahoma has been WTC’s focus for 50 years,” said Kathe Corning, WTC superintendent. “We’re proud of our district, and School Board Recognition Month is the time to say thank you and celebrate our board members.”

In Western Technology Center’s District, school board members must develop policies and make tough decisions on complex educational and social issues impacting the entire district and the communities they serve. WTC Board members bear responsibility for the annual school budget, on average 500 full-time students, approximately 600 short-term students, 102 employees, and five campuses.

In recognition of their dedicated service, Western Technology Center thanks Ray Challis, Board President, Derrel Nutley, Board Vice-President, Don Greteman, Board Clerk, Gary Smith, Board Member and Rudy Mayfield, Board Member for their governance.
