Trash Poster Contest Open For Entries

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation is now accepting entries for the 2021 Trash Poster Contest. The contest is open to Oklahoma students from kindergarten through 12th grade and entries must be submitted by Jan. 31, 2020.

The contest encourages students to learn about Oklahoma’s litter issues and propose solutions in the form of art. Entries will be separated into grades K-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12. The 14 state winners will will receive cash prizes, with one promotional poster of the year earning an additional $200 cash prize. The grand prize poster of the year will be printed in large format for public use in displays, newsletter, and promotions.

The winners, their families, and their teachers will be invited to an awards event in April and the students will be introduced on the floor of the House of Representatives. The teachers of the winning students will also receive a two-night stay at an Oklahoma state park and a voucher for classroom art supplies.

All entries must be submitted to the local Department of Environmental Quality Office on or before Jan. 31, 2020.
