The Town of Rocky recently received a $3500 grant from Midwestern Oklahoma Development Authority (MODA) that allowed the purchase of a new playground unit and also funded the installation of a new volleyball court.
Each year MODA awards a community improvement grant to a city or town in their service area which includes Washita, Kiowa, Beckham and Custer counties.
The total cost of the Rocky project was about $6277 and the town contributed the amount remaining after the grant was applied.
Rocky City Clerk Gail Wilkins said “We the Town of Rocky would like to say ‘Thank You’ to MODA for awarding us the grant. Without these funds from MODA the improvements to our park would not have been possible.”
