A winter storm moved through our area on Monday and left lawns, homes and cars blanketed with several inches of snow. Ground temperatures were still well above freezing, so the fluffy drifts melted quickly. Many residents commented on the size of the flakes, saying they were the largest they had ever seen.
By Tuesday morning, most roadways were dry and safe. Children who had hoped for a school ‘snow day’ were disappointed this time as classes were held as usual.
Temperatures are expected to remain below freezing overnight for the next several days, while afternoons will climb to the 50’s, with the exception of Friday. A daytime high of only 35 degrees and a small chance of precipitation will make for a chilly start to the weekend.
