Sentinel Man Killed Monday In Crash

John King, a 57-year-old man from Sentinel, was killed in a crash Monday, Oct. 7, 2019, on State Highway 55 near Sentinel.

According to the report issued from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, King was driving a 1995 International eastbound on State Highway 55 when Russell Ridling, a 59-year-old Sentinel resident, failed to yield from a stop sign on County Road 2160 in his 2018 Case Patriot Agricultural Sprayer. Ridling crossed into the path of King and the vehicles collided.

King was pronounced dead at the scene by Medical Examiner Jennifer Skaggs. Ridling was transported by Air Evac to OU Medical Center in stable condition with trunk internal injuries and head injuries.

According to the statement issued by OHP, neither driver was using seatbelts at the time of injury. The condition of both drivers at the time of the collision is listed as “under investigation.”
