Bailey Gossen makes her mark onstage
Miss Bailey Gossen, who currently holds the crown of both Teen Miss Washita County and Miss Elk City’s Teen, wowed the audience and judges alike last weekend as she competed in the Miss Oklahoma Teen USA pageant in Midwest City.
Bailey played a jazzy, energetic rendition of ‘Sabre Dance/Bumble Boogie’ on the piano and her performance won both the Rookie Talent award as well as Overall Best Talent. She was honored with the Gold Oklahoma Order of Excellence and also captured the Top Ad Sales award for her fundraising efforts. Bailey finished as a semi-finalist, and walked away with $8,450 in cash and scholarships.
She expressed her gratitude by saying “First of all I want to thank Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior for giving me the strength and courage to do this. All glory to Him! Thank you to my Mom for being my biggest supporter and driving me around all year. You have been the best! Thank you Daddy, Korben and Kendallyn for always being there with a word of advice, joke, or a smile.”
She went on to say “I want to give a huge thank you to my Elk City Board for countless hours spent helping me prepare for Miss Oklahoma’s Teen. Thank you to Mark and Kalee Gossen and Kya Carpenter. You have supported me since before I began, and I couldn’t have done it without you. Thank you to all the wonderful sponsors across Western Oklahoma for your generous support all year. I have had the best experiences this year, and have grown so much! I am so thankful for this organization.”
No matter the final outcome, Bailey says she had fun and enjoyed spending time with other contestants.
Congratulations, Bailey, and we can’t wait to see what your future holds.
