Next month The Cordell Beacon will produce a visitors’ guide and business directory for the greater Washita County area. The guide will be a glossy, full-color magazine featuring county attractions, as well as features about the rich history and unique culture of southwest Oklahoma.
“We wanted to do something a little different from standard newspaper advertising and promotions,” said The Cordell Beacon’s managing editor Bob Henline. “We wanted to provide visitors to the area with a single source of information that is both informative and entertaining. Hopefully, this will not only help guide visitors to the sights and events they want to see, but also help our local businesses draw new people into their shops, stores, and restaurants and help boost their business a bit.”
The magazine will be published this fall and is scheduled to be released before Cordell’s annual Pumpkin Festival in order to be available for visitors attending the event.
In addition to the feature stories, photographs, and advertising, the guide will also include a business directory with listings of area businesses, divided into specific business categories, such as retail shops, eateries, etc... Business owners or managers interested in placing advertisements in the magazine or having their business listed should contact The Cordell Beacon at 580.832.3333 for additional information or to reserve their space.
