Candidates for municipal office in six Washita County municipalities may file Declarations of Candidacy beginning at 8 a.m. Monday, Feb. 1.
The filing period ends at 5 p.m. Feb. 3, Leah Jones, secretary of the Washita County Election Board, said.
Declarations of Candidacy will be accepted at the Washita County Election Board office for the indicated offices for each of the following municipalities:
■ City of Cordell four-year terms: council members in Ward 1, Ward 2, Ward 3, Ward 4; and City Clerk.
■ Town of Rocky four-year term: Board of Trustees – one position
■ Town of Sentinel four-year terms: Board of Trustees, two positions; and Town Clerk/Treasurer
■ Town of Canute: Board of Trustees – two positions, four-year-terms, and one position-unexpired term, two years
■ Town of Dill City four-year terms: Board of Trustees, two positions
■ Town of Corn four year-terms: Board of Trustees, two positions
The municipal offices at stake in the above listed cities and towns will be filled in the Municipal Election scheduled April 6, 2021.
