A 76-year-old Mountain Park man was killed Saturday, Dec. 7, 2019, while crossing Highway 183 on foot.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol report, Steven Parsons was walking across Highway 183 at approximately 6:38 p.m. when he “crossed into the path” of a 2016 Jeep Compass driven by 49-year-old Kelli Elliott of Cordell.
According to the report, Parsons was pronounced deceased at the scene by medical examiner Jim Delbridge. He was transported by Southern Plains Mortuary Service to the medical examiner’s office in Oklahoma City.
The report further indicates the cause of the collision and the condition of the driver are still under investigation.
