A local convenience store owner says business has remained good even since the COVID-19 outbreak earlier this year.

Penny Beard, owner of Kwik N Eze in Cordell, says, “I feel like business has been really good and don’t believe COVID-19 has had a negative impact.”

She said she has owned the business for 10 years and that she has a business partner. “My partner and I have been at it that long here,” Beard says.

“We have drinks, we’ve had Hunts Brothers Pizza for almost a year,” adding, “and that’s really made a big impact. We have a deli, we sell quite a bit off of it and we also sell quite a bit of pizza.”

Beard noted, too, “We have breakfast food, burritos, and other items, and we also provide the typical convenience store products.”

She said the store also has and sells lottery tickets.

“I feel like everything is the same and I think the demeanor of our customers has been great. I have good employees who are friendly,” she believes.

“We have a total of 13 employees, including myself and my partner, and we’re open seven days a week.”

The store was built in 1980, she says.

“We have fuel, take call in orders for deli items and pizza til at least 9 p.m,” Beard notes.

They have a weekly special every week Monday through Friday, and fountain happy hours 12-1 and 3-6. “I believe my employees provide friendly, fast service. I appreciate each and every customer and employee, so many are like family.

“I’m definitely all about my customers for sure,” Beard emphasized.

“I love my customers and employees. Our employees are awesome,” she asserted.

Beard indicated about the only problem she’s experienced with getting items from her vendors deals with some of the beer products. “That’s really been my main issue,” Beard said, noting, “not much of anything else product wise.”
