Residents of Washita County and surrounding communities will have an opportunity to meet with Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt during a public gathering Friday, August 14, at the historic Washita Theater in downtown Cordell.
The community meeting will begin at 2:10 p.m. at the Washita Theater, located at 111 S. Market Street in Cordell.
According to organizers, Stitt will meet with local legislators, county officials, city leaders, community leaders and members of the public to discuss the future of southwest Oklahoma and hear directly from area residents.
The Governor will highlight Oklahoma’s economic growth, education achievements, infrastructure, and public safety, while inviting local leaders, families, and businesses to join the conversation about shaping Oklahoma’s future and promoting the American Dream.
The gathering is intended to provide an opportunity for open conversation about issues affecting local communities while strengthening collaboration between state and local leadership.
Area residents will have the opportunity to hear from Stitt and local elected officials and share their perspectives on the challenges and opportunities facing communities throughout the region.
“The state of our state is the strongest it’s ever been, and we’re not done yet,” said Governor Kevin Stitt. “I’m excited to travel to every county and hear directly from Oklahomans about what they love about our state and how we can continue to make it the best state in the country.”
The gathering is being presented as a collaborative effort between Great Plains Country and Travel Oklahoma, with support from the Cordell Chamber of Commerce and the City of Cordell.
