Find your first wares at the first Farmer's Market

Hey Cordell residents, get ready to enjoy spring with two events: the season's first Farmer's Market and Easter Egg hunt.

The Cordell Chamber of Commerce is hosting the first Farmers Market of the year on April 3.

The event is open to anyone that has handmade items such as signs, sclothing, decor etc, homemade items such as bread, muffins, butter, etc, or something that you have grown in your own garden, according the Cordell Chamber of Commerce office manager Sarah Lau.

It is free to set up, but you need to RSVP with Lau by calling her at 580- 832-3538.

The Farmers Market will be on the first Saturday of the month from April to September in the Pocket Park on the southwest corner of the historical town square In the heart of Cordell from 8 a.m. to noon.

The chamber also will host its annual Easter Egg Hunt at 10 a.m. on April 3 in Lee Park.

This year's event has one notable change because of COVID-19 protocols. The egg hunt will only be for children 7 and under.

"There are going to be prizes for those who find the eggs with numbers in them. These prizes, eggs and candy have been donated by the local businesses and citizens in Cordell," said chamber office manager Sarah Lau. "There are over 2,500 eggs this year. Also this year the Easter Bunny will be there for photos and just to hang out."

Lau said interested businesses or people can donate candy by dropping it off at the Chamber office at 114 N. Market.
