Elmyrta Bell Rackley, 83, of Mountain View, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on June 27, 2020, at her home.

She was born on Dec. 1, 1936, to Marvin and Melee (Elston) Cunningham at Harry and Maud Elston’s house in Fay. Elmyrta grew up and attended school in Rocky, graduating from Rocky High School in 1953.

After high school she worked for First National Bank in Cordell for many years. Elmyrta met and

Elmyrta met and married Barton Rackley on Sept. 7, 1974, in Cordell at Rudy and Heidi Megets house. Elmyrta enjoyed staying at home, raising her children, Lyndall and Michelle. She loved baking cakes, especially her famous angel food cake.

Elmyrta was a member of the First Baptist Church, she was also a member of the Twenty-First Century Club. Elmyrta will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her children, Lyndall Rackley and wife Tamitha of Mountain View and Michelle Crawford and husband Scott of Weatherford; grandchildren Jared Ragan of Weatherford, Jaidyn Rackley of Gotebo, Dakota Royse of Cordell, and Brittany Rackley of Mountain View; brother Ralph Cunningham and wife Audrey of Cordell; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Melee Cunningham; husband Barton Rackley; and brother Johnny Cunningham.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 1, 2020, and from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, July 2, 2020, at Ray & Martha’s Funeral Home in Mountain View. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 3, 2020, at First Baptist Church of Mountain View, with interment at Mountain View Cemetery in Mountain View.
