The Dill Work and Play OHCE met August 10, 2021, at 1:30, in the Dill City Community. Jane Shull called the meeting to order. Anna Prickett led the Pledge to the Flag of the United States, and led the group singing Yellow Rose of Texas.
Emma Bingham gave a Thought for the day: Your life may be the only Bible some people will see using Galatians 6:2, live your life with Love and Good Works. She also read the minutes from the July meeting.Emma took roll with 5 members answering with “Name one thing you will be entering in the county fair.”
Anna gave a treasurer’s report. Lowayne Piercey gave a 4-H report. Burns Flat Dill City SR 4-Her, Brance Barnett, was elected to the District Representative State Leadership Council. We are very proud of him. The BFDC SR 4-H Club is putting together special life books for foster care children in our area, and getting ready for the Washita County Fair.
The Washita County Fair was discussed, it will be held August 25 thru 28. An update on the OHCE Silent Auction was discussed and everyone is getting prepared. The Fair appreciation meal will be held August 17, at 6:00pm, in the Washita County Activity Center.
New business was a motion from Jane to invite the Willing Workers to our meeting in September and have a brunch. That meeting will be September 14, at 11:00, in the home of Jane Shull, and everyone agreed.
Vickie Werner showed family pictures of her family (the Graves Family) from over 70 years ago for cultural arts. A picture of her grandparents, with all their children and one of grandparents, children and grandchildren. She plans to enter them in the County Fair.
The program for August was Planning the Fair entries. Jane led the group, each telling the entries they have for the fair this year. They have a complete exhibit.
Jane Shall served refreshments to Anna Prickett, Vickie Werner, Emma Bingham, and Lowayne Piercey. Anna won the door prize given by Jane. Emma led the group saying the Lord’s Prayer, and the club was dismissed.
