Data from the Oklahoma Tax Commission shows the sales tax collected in Cordell has dropped off slightly for August 2019.
The City of New Cordell collected $59,606.27 in sales tax for the month of August 2019, down almost $9,000 from the July total of $68,571.99 and almost $4,000 from August 2018’s total of $63,490.49.
Bessie and Sentinel each collected higher tax revenues in August 2019. Bessie pulled in $1,162.87, up slightly from July’s total of $1,011.75, but down significantly from the $1,805.87 the town collected in August 2018.
Sentinel collected a total of $20,849.92 for the month, up from $17,895.92 the previous month and also up from August 2018’s total of $18,580.12.
Rocky’s August 2019 sales tax number was also significantly lower than the previous month, down to $1,364.70 from July’s collections of $3,067.86. Last year the town brought in $1,834.42 in August sales tax revenues.
