The Cordell Christian Home is actively seeking new staff for its facility in Cordell. As part of their new recruitment program, the Home will be hosting a job fair on Friday, March 6, from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Cordell Christian Home administrator Gail Wilcox said the job fair has two primary intentions: to help recruit new staff for the facility and to show the community what the home is and what they do for their residents.
“We are deeply committed to serving our residents and our community at large,” she said. “Our goal is to provide quality care and service to our community and we’re actively seeking people who want to be a part of our service team.”
Wilcox said they are currently seeking Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Medical Assistants, Certified Nursing Assistants, and dietary personnel for their Cordell facility. In addition to competitive pay and benefits, Wilcox said they are offering sign-on bonuses and paid training and certification for eligible positions and candidates. She estimated the cost of obtaining entry-level certifications to be around $400, which can pose a serious hurdle for people wanting to start a career in the healthcare field.
The job fair will be held in an open-house style, with people free to come and go at any time during the event. Applications will be available to complete and submit, and management staff will be on-hand to offer immediate interviews. Refreshments will also be served.
