The Cordell Christian Home threw their annual celebration of freedom summer picnic Friday, July 19, 2019. The staff and volunteers at the care center served hamburgers grilled by Cordell Fire Chief Seth Slaughterback to dozens of residents, family, and friends.
The event opened with the Cordell Cub Scouts presenting the colors to the sounds of Cordell band instructor Steve Smith playing the national anthem on his trumpet.
“It is a highlight for us to have the opportunity to honor and celebrate the wonderful individuals who paved the way for us,” said Gail Wilcox.
