Quarantine lock-down protocols aren’t keeping the residents and staff at the Cordell Christian Home down. Due to restrictions stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic, visitors are not allowed inside the facility, but the staff has figured out a way to keep residents active and engaged, and to provide a way for residents to see, and be seen by, their families and friends.
Last week the residents, with the help of the staff, took their exercise routine into the front yard to enjoy the warm weather and fresh air. The residents, all wearing masks, were spaced at least six feet apart to comply with social distancing and safety guidelines, and performed their exercises with music playing in the background.
To make it more fun for the residents, the staff arranged for people to do “drive-by” visits to the residents. Friends, families, and community members - including the Cordell Fire Department and EMS in an engine and ambulance - drove past the exercising residents and honked and waved, showing their love and support for Cordell Christian Home’s residents.
