Cordell Blue Devils STUDENT SPOTLIGHT

Maverick Woodis is in Mrs. Anna Feltman’s third grade class. Here is what Mrs. Feltman had to say about Maverick: “Maverick is an amazing student. He is always on task and isn’t afraid to put in the work. Maverick is excelling in third grade beautifully. He is kind, respectful, and a friend to everyone. We are very lucky to have Maverick at Cordell Public Schools.”

Maverick answered a few questions from the Beacon:

Can you tell us a bit about yourself? For example your favorite class, favorite thing about school, do you have any pets, hobbies, etc.

My favorite class is P.E

My favorite thing about school is recess because I can get outside and play with all my friends.

I have 6 chickens, 24 calves, and my sister has 2 cats.

My hobbies are playing football, basketball, soccer, and hunting for bullfrogs so we can eat their legs.

How has your school year been so far? Have you done anything fun or anything that stands out?

My school year has been good and a bit different because they got rid of the covid stuff. Something I did that was fun was playing kickball in P.E. and I scored two home runs!

What has been your favorite part about school since you started? Do you have any favorite memories?

My favorite part of school since we started is having our music class back and we have a very nice teacher.

What are you most excited for this school year?

I know there will be exciting things but I don’t know what yet.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

I want to build houses.

What makes you happy?

What makes me happy is seeing my grandparents, Judy and Joe.
