Full hearts, good company and an overall amazing time was had by all who were able to attend the Thanksgiving meal from the Cordell Plaza and the Third Annual Thanksgiving Feast arranged by Amy Riggs and Tonya Venable. “So many were blessed with full [stomachs],” said Riggs. The amount of families and individuals helped and fed is astounding.
Several community members were able to enjoy the holiday in loving and warm environments. Around 175 enjoyed the Thanksgiving Feast this year. “Leftovers were dropped off at some low income housing locations af terwards,” mentioned Riggs.
Several community members have given praise to the Thanksgiving meal provided by the Cordell Plaza. This event was solely made possible by the Plaza owners Tasha and Aaron Veneigh.
“It was really great. We served roughly around 100 people,” said Tasha. “We have always tried to do something to give back. We always want people to know they aren’t alone especially around the holidays.” The Plaza would like to give a huge thank you to those that donated for the upcoming Christmas dinner.
Thank you to our local businesses that gave us more to be thankful for this holiday.
