CBA Celebrates Homecoming

Corn Bible Academy fall homecoming was held on October 2nd. Regretfully, due to the coronavirus, Beaver, the opposing team, had to cancel the football game. But, this didn’t deter the Crusaders from having a successful evening. They played ultimate football on the field before the ceremony. Then, Nick Bittle spoke to the students about overcoming conflict.

The homecoming theme this year was Jurassic Park. The theme verse was John 14:6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Student Council chose fun dress up days for the week leading up to Home coming: Decade day, Comic Book day, Jurassic Park day, Twin day, and CBA spirit day. Students participated in these dress up days to earn STUCO bucks and win a class prize. The class with the least amount of points had to clean up the homecoming decorations at the end of the week. Student council has found many ways to make sure all the students participate with their school fun.

The student body nominated its homecoming candidates. The homecoming queen candidates were Senior McKinsi Grube from Foss, Senior Kaysa Carpenter of Corn, Senior Audra Fowble of Thomas, and Senior Kennedy Listak of Clinton. The Homecoming King candidates are Senior Cooper Brittain of Elk City, Senior Andrew Koscheski of Clinton, Junior Blake Brewer of Clinton, and Junior River Lewis of Weatherford. The Homecoming attendants are Western Oklahoma Christian School Kindergarteners, Scarlett Fowble, and Liam Schmidt. Liam Schmidt is the son of Lucas and Courtney Schmidt, and Scarlett Fowble is the daughter of Landon and Lindsey Fowble of Thomas.

Andrew and Kennedy were crowned king and queen for 2020. Even without the game, the Crusaders were able to come together and have a good time, thanks to the creativity and flexibility of our faculty and student council.
