The Cordell Beacon is preparing to ramp up its coverage of activities at Cordell Public Schools. The Beacon has added Cordell senior Flora Walters to its staff as an intern reporter.
Walters will be managing the new Blue Devil Beat in the Cordell Beacon. The Blue Devil Beat will be a regular feature inside the paper, covering topics of interest to students and parents, including club activities, school awards, sports schedules, and other school-based news and information.
“I’m thrilled to have Flora on board to create this new product for The Beacon,” said editor Bob Henline. “She’s a bright young lady with some great ideas and I’m looking forward to seeing what she does with this project. I think the students and parents will appreciate her coverage of school-related topics.”
“I’m really excited to start this new project,” Walters said. “I think it’s something that will help me with a lot of things in my later life.”
