Abbygail Priebe

Abbygail Priebe is a senior at Cordell High School and is actively involved in sports and band. She makes sure to make time for her friends and family all while working two jobs. Her dream is to attend The University of Oklahoma after graduation. Read ahead to find out more about Abby and why she was chosen as this week’s Cordell Blue Devil Student Spotlight.

Can you tell us a bit about yourself?

My favorite class this year is psychology, my favorite thing about school is lunch (even though it’s like 10 minutes shorter this year), I have 5 dogs, Sadie, Moose, Squints, Nugget, and Dakota, and my hobbies include playing softball, golf, and I enjoy hanging out with my family and boyfriend.

How has your school year been so far?

So far this year has been decent. We didn’t do as good as I hoped in softball this year, but so far band is pretty fun. I think we are all doing a pretty good job with what he have been given. Our band mostly consists of 8th graders, so they are all pretty young. Having only 3 seniors has been hard, but we will get better.

What have been some of your favorite memories from during your time in school?

Some of my favorite memories from my time in school are the trips. Going on band trips, riding the bus to and from softball games, stuff like that. I believe these trips are where you build all the good memories.

What has been your favorite part of school and why?

My favorite part about school has probably been getting to see the teachers. I love my teachers, and I love that some of them will treat you like you are their own child. It sure makes school a lot easier when you have teachers that understand you.

Are you in any sports, clubs, or other extracurricular activities?

I am in softball, band, color guard, golf, and basketball this year.

What are you most excited for this school year?

I am most excited for basketball season this year. I haven’t played since the 4th grade and it’s my senior year, but I believe it will be a fun year. It will for sure be a new adventure.

What is it that motivates you to try to do well in class?

Thinking of my future motivates me to try to do well in class. I don’t want to fail in class and not make it into a college.

What do you do when you’re not in school?

When I am out of school, I am working 2 jobs, hanging out at the house with my family, or hanging out with my boyfriend.

What are your plans looking like for after you graduate? What type of career do you want to try and pursue?

I would like to attend The University of Oklahoma. It has always been my dream. As far as what type of career I want to try and pursue, I have no clue yet. I have some ideas, but none of them are set in stone.
