This fair is conducted under the provisions of and by authority of the Free Fair Laws of Oklahoma. It is the purpose of Free Fair Association to make the Free Fair an educational institution and to encourage cooperation among the citizens of Washita County. The Management of the County Fair is in the hands of the County Free Fair Association, which is composed of three members elected from each commissioner’s district in the county. The County Free Fair is financed by taxation. No admission charge will be made and no entry fee will be charged.

Livestock Department

Rule 1. All entries in the department must be made and be in place by the specified times and shall remain in place until after each species show.

Rule 2. All exhibitors in livestock departments must be residents of Washita County or 4-H and/ or FFA members in Washita County.

Rule 3. Any and all disputes shall be settled by the department superintendent.

Rule 4. All exhibitors in livestock departments must keep stall and alleys clean and presentable at all times. Failure to comply with this rule is subject to dismissal of entries from the barns.

Rule 5. N o livestock will be permitted to remain in the fairground buildings or on the fairgrounds after the completion of the fair. Rule 6.

All exhibits must be owned by the exhibitor by July 1, 2020.

Rule 7. N o male breeding animals will be entered or shown at the county fair.

Rule 8. Exhibitors will not be permitted to remain on the fairgrounds without adult supervision between the hours of 11:30 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.

Rule 9. Exhibitors will be limited to entering three market swine, three market lambs, three market steers, and three wether goats. Each exhibitor may enter three animals in the breeding class.

Rule 10. No dye, tint, or other type of coloring will be permitted on any animal entered.

Rule 11. Each exhibitor is expected to take care and groom his or her animal during the period of the show. He or she may be assisted by their own parents, agriculture education instructor, county extension educator or other eligible exhibitor from their respective club or chapter.

Rule 12. All livestock exhibitors are requested to wear clothing that represent their youth organization (4-H or FFA) while showing. No caps are to be worn by the exhibitors in the ring.

Rule 13. Ewe lambs may be exhibited in the market classes; however, the same ewe cannot be exhibited in the breeding classes.

Rule 14. Rules are the same as listed in the 2020 Tulsa State Fair catalog unless otherwise stated in these rules.

Rule 15. Youth who have been declared ineligible in extracurricular activities by the local school administration will be declared ineligible for the show.

Rule 16. If exhibitor is ineligible, the animal owned by the exhibitor is also ineligible for the show.

Rule 17. No animal may leave the grounds except with permission of the show superintendent.

Rule 18. Live - stock superintendents can make classes different than listed in this catalog. This is to allow classes to be made after all entries have been completed.

Rule 19. Live - stock trailers must be parked in an orderly fashion to facilitate the movement of vehicles and people. An area will be designated north of the Activity Center.

Swine Division Superintendents: Bob Graham and Jason Uecke

Rule 1: A l l swine are required to have a “840” electronic identification (EID/ RFID) tag in the ear to be eligible to show.

Rule 2: No animal infected with disease will be permitted to occupy any of the exhibit pens, but the association will not be held responsible for any outbreak of disease that may occur through violation of this rule.

Rule 3: The market swine show will consist of barrows and gilts shown together and classes broke by breed and weight (2020).

Rule 4: All swine are required to have pseudorabies papers.

Rule 5: Breeds to be shown: Berkshire, Chester White, Duroc, Hampshire, Poland China, Spot, Yorkshire, and Crossbred.

Rule 6: Classes for market swine will be determined after every animal is weighed. There will be a maximum of three weight classes per breed. Market Swine must not weigh more than 270 pounds.

Meat Goat Division

Rule 1: All meat goats shown must be a Boer goat or be of a meat goat breed.

Rule 2: Junior and Open exhibitors will complete together in the meat breeding classes.

Rule 3: No billies will be allowed to show in any division.

Rule 4: All wethers will show as a market goat.

Rule 5: If there are six or more classes of goats, there will be three divisions. If there are less than six classes, there will be only two divisions.

Rule 1: Breeding animals must be subject to register.

Rule 2: T h e market lamb classes will consist of wether or ewe lambs that will be exhibited by weight and breed. Ewe lambs entered in the market class are ineligible for the breeding classes. Exhibitors must show their own lamb unless the exhibitor has more than one exhibit in a class.

Rule 3: No rams will be allowed to show in any division.

Rule 4: Breeds to be shown: Southdown, Dorset, Shropshire, Speckle Face, Hampshire, Suffolk, Natural Color, Hair, and Crossbred.

Rule 2: Class breaks will be determined by beef superintendent.

Heifer Show

• Classes will be offered for American Aberdeen, Angus, Beefmaster, Brahman, Brangus, Charolais, Charolais Composite, Chianina, Dexter, Gelbvieh, Hereford, Limousin, Maine-Anjou, Maintainer, Miniature Hereford, Red Angus, Salers, Shorthorn, Shorthorn Plus, Simmental, Simmental Influence and Commercial.

• Classes for individual heifers will be made at the show after all animals have been entered.

• Heifers entries have to provide proof of date of birth

Market Steers

• Classes will be offered for Angus, Chianina, Salers, Shorthorn, Simmental, Hereford and Limousin.

• Steers will be divided into weight classes by breed.

Prospect Steers

• The prospect steer classes will consist of all breeds and crossbreds shown together.

• Steer classes will be broke by weight.

• Steers must weigh less than 1,050 pounds.
