Get ready to make a splash this summer
After many weeks of uncertainty for Cordell residents, the pool is now officially ready to open.
The Cordell Public Pool will open on Wednesday, June, 9th from 1 to 6 p.m. and will kick things off with a free swim day.
The pools operating hours are Tuesday through Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m.with water walkers from 9 to noon.
Entry fees are $2 for ages 65 and older, $4 for ages 12-64 years, $3 for ages 5-11, and free for ages 4 and under.
Season passes are available starting at $65 depending on age. Family season passes are also available. The pool can also be reserved for birthday parties.
Children 12-years-old or younger must be supervised and cannot be dropped off and left alone at the pool.
Upcoming events at the pool include an event for the Fourth of July which will include free swim hours from 1 to 4 p.m. as well as hot dogs being served.
This year, the pool will see new management as Candace Dudgeon will be the new manager.
She said she hopes to make the pool experience fun for all, and also hopes to include new things such as working with Code Blue Crossfit to add in things such as workouts, games, and/or activities.
“I like working in the public and out with people talking. Helping them. Making them smile,” Dudgeon said. “I plan on making the pool fun as possible with games, night swims, glow swims, and cook-outs.”
