The number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 continues to rise as the State of Oklahoma continues to move forward with Gov. Kevin Stitt’s plan to reopen the state’s economy. As of Monday, May 18, the Oklahoma State Department of Health reports 5,398 confirmed cases of the disease, an increase of 783 cases since Monday, May 11. The death toll has increased from 274 to 288 in the same time period. Washita County, after two false reports based upon errors in the addresses, experienced its first case during the past week. The patient reportedly resides in the western part of the county, with a Foss rural address.
