Obituary: Helen Leora Wood

Helen Leora Wood, 96, of Sentinel, passed away on June 7, 2020, at the Cordell Christian Home in Cordell.

She was born on Feb. 16, 1924, to Earl and Ella (Smith) Luttrell in Rocky. Helen grew up and attended school in Rocky. and graduated from Rocky High School in 1942.

She married William "Bill" Wood in Rocky on Aug. 8, 1946. Helen was a member of the United Methodist Church in Sentinel. She loved scrapbooking, going shopping with her grandkids, and cooking for family and having family gatherings. Helen loved her children, grandchildren and attending church. She really enjoyed going places with her friend Judith Reaves. Helen will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her sons Lewis Wood and wife Joan of Rocky, Lynn Wood and wife Pat of Rocky; grandchildren James Wood of Rocky, Casey Wood and wife Skye of Rocky, Jennifer Mason and husband Harley of Bryan, Texas, Kristy Farris and husband Wes of Sentinel; great-grandchildren Marlie Farris, Teague Farris, Casen Wood, Jett Wood and Reed Wood.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Ella Luttrell; and husband William "Bill" Wood.

Visitation was held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 9, 2020, at Ray & Martha's Funeral Home in Sentinel.

A graveside service was held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 1 0, 2020, at the Sentinel Cemetery in Sentinel.
