Mary Ann Ivy

Mary Ann Ivy, 68, of Cordell, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on May 29, 2020. She was born on Aug. 4, 1951, to James and Pauline (Burns) Rutherford in Cordell.

Mary grew up and attended school in Cordell, graduating from Cordell High School in 1969. She met the love of her life, Robert Ivy, and they married in the First Baptist Church in Cordell on Sept. 7, 1976, to this union was born four children: Carla, Murlene, Jacob and Kristy.

Mary worked as a cook at the school for a couple years and then decided to clean homes for people and did so for the past fifteen years. She loved to go hunting with her husband. She loved being with her family. Mary will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, especially her husband, Robert.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Ivy, of Cordell; children Carla Woodward of Cordell, Murlene Stewart of Minneapolis, Minn., Jacob Ivy of Cordell, and Kristy Ivy of Cordell; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters Paula Leffingwell of Cordell, Janie Washington of Muskogee, Mae Belle Anderson of Clinton, and Betty Bailey; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother William James Rutherford.
