Leona Sanders, age 88, beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 7, 2020.
Leona (Bose) Sanders was born Nov. 26, 1931 to parents John and Freda (Stehr) Bose of Bessie.
Leona married Ernest Roy Sanders of Clinton on July 31, 1949; they made their home in Albuquerque, N.M. where they resided for over 60 years.
Leona loved to read, travel and loved her family with a passion, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved watching and playing with all of them and never missed a birthday, Leona was an amazing woman and will be deeply missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ernest Roy Sanders; her infant sister, Mary Lou, sister Betty Mueller; and grandson Jeremy Valdez
She is survived by her daughters, Diane Stryk and husband Bohdan, and Linda Flores; sons, Terry Sanders and wife Annette, Ernest Sanders Jr. and wife Susan, James Sanders and wife Cindi all of Albuquerque; 12 grandkids; 16 great-grandkids; and a sister Gwendolyn Mirtz and husband Ben of Salina, Kan.
Leona will be laid to rest next to her husband Ernest Roy Sanders at Sunset Memorial Park in Albuquerque, N.M.
