Frances Irene Bryan was born Oct. 24, 1932, to John Givens Lowell and Zola Mae Masters at Cloud Chief, and passed away on April 11, 2020, at the Clinton Therapy & Living Center in Clinton at the age of 87.
She grew up in Cloud Chief, where she attended all 12 years of school. She was an athletic young lady that loved basketball and played during her school years.
She married Walter Thomas (W.T.) Bryan on June 24, 1950.
Frances and W.T. had four children -- RuVae, Kevin, Denise, and Kelly.
While raising their children, they lived in Oklahoma, Texas, Florida, and Georgia, and at one time owned and operated Bryan Furniture Store in Burns Flat. They moved to Georgia in 1973 and moved back to Oklahoma in 1992.
When her husband retired from the insurance business in 2005, they moved from Burns Flat to Clinton. Before and after his death in 2013, Frances worked at Southwest Interiors in Clinton. She later retired and moved to a retirement center in Cordell before moving to an apartment, also in Cordell, where she resided prior to her stroke and short stay in the Clinton Therapy & Living Center. She enjoyed attending Bible class and worship service at the Church of Christ in Clinton, of which she was a long time member and will be missed.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son; and brothers Earl and Bob.
She is survived by her daughters RuVae Roberts of North Carolina and Denise Goff of Alabama, and son Kelly Bryan, and wife Dana, of McKinney, Texas; sister Sharon of Texas; grandchildren Derrick Roberts, Devin Roberts, Kelly Wilson, Doug Wilson, Kevin Bryan, and Thomas Bryan; and 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by the Calvert families of Clinton, who considered her a family member, and by a host of friends whose lives she touched through the years.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
