Clifford Wade Butler 83, of Cordell

Clifford Wade “Bud” Butler, 83, passed away on Friday, Sept. 20, 2019, in Mangum, after a very courageous battle with cancer. He was born on June 26, 1936, in Asher, to Jessie Jewel (Hooper) and Ray Clifton Butler.

He married Rheda June Pendleton on Jan. 7, 1957, in Ada. She preceded him in death on Jan. 27, 2017.

Bud was an avid fisherman and a fantastic cook, hosting numerous cookouts. Bud loved the Lord and was a member of the New Beginnings Assembly of God Church in Cordell. He and Rheda were very active in church, where they cooked for the church every Wednesday night until failing health prevented them from doing everything they wanted to. He worked many years as a veterinarian assistant in Cordell and worked with area youth groups at stock shows. Bud never met a stranger and they would always part ways as friends. His greatest joy in life was his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Randy and Ginger Butler of Cordell; his daughter and son-in-law Candy and Shawn Johnson of Mangum; his grandchildren, Danielle and Bill Lavoie, Amanda Johnson, Blaire and Raleigh Wall, and Blake Butler; his great-grandchildren, Brennan Butler, Cameron Butler, Easton Wall, Jaci Wall, Myrah Lavoie; his sister Shirley Stubbs of Mountain View; his brothers and their wives, Orvel and Doris Butler of Mountain View, Leo and Mary Butler of Carnegie, and Ronnie and LaDonna Butler of Carnegie; and his extended family, Levoy and Sheila Ringo of Dill City, Landon Ringo of Dill City, Michael and Devon Bonewitz of Blair, and Maybalee Bonewitz of Blair.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Rheda; his brother Frank Butler; his sister, Bonnie Mandrell; grandchildren Brianna Butler and four Angel Babies.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2019, at New Beginnings Assembly of God Church, 1221 E. 14th St. in Cordell, with Shawn Johnson and Levoy Ringo and Mike Southerland officiating. Interment will follow at Odessa Cemetery in Gotebo.
