Happy New Year, 2023 is here and many things are happening during this year. We first want to reflect on what we have been able to provide to the people of Washita County and the community of Cordell. The expansion of the infusion services is one that has grown and continues to provide long term needs right here at home. The other was the addition of nuclear medicine services that provides testing for cardiac studies and diagnosis of gallbladder disease. The year ended with the addition of advance CT imaging with the new 64-slice CT machine that we have seen amazing results in quickly identification of stroke and another included screening of lung disease. These services have expanded and added to CMH while we continue to provide 24/7 Emergency Care and inpatient care to include swing bed for people to continue care prior to going home.

2023 will bring new services and expansion of a current service. The expansion will be for the Wound Care services that will be offered weekly for outpatient and we will be able to provide wound care for inpatients and swing bed care. This will be occurring in February. More will be shared as we get closer to the go-live date.

The current medication system will join the technology age in March with transition to an automated system that provides safety with scanning and improving the management of medication inventory. This will be beneficial to the nursing staff in medication administration for ED and inpatient care.

In the spring we will be having the Washita County Health Fair. There will be more to come as we get closer to the date.

The greatest impact to CMH as the New Year began was the closing of the Clinton Hospital with an increase in the Emergency Room visits and increase in the inpatient volume.

We are excited for things to come in 2023 and continue to look at ways to provide more to our community, please let me know if you have suggestions on what we can do for you. Please call 580-832-3339.

For your health and wellness,

Melinda
