Greetings from Atlanta, Georgia! It has been exciting week for the BF-CD Senior 4-H Club.

Evie Denny, Kathryn Sirmon and Brance Barnett went to McIntyre Law Firm with our leader Larissa Mason.

We went to present a crystal clock to former Burns Flat resident, Noble McIntyre for his continued support of 4-H across the state.

These members have previously been awarded the Noble CausesAward for outstanding community service. Although Mr. McIntyre was surprised by the gift, he surprised us by giving additional support for our projects . Evie and Kathryn delivered pillows to the OU Breast cancer Center as part of their project.

Brance Barnett left early on Friday with a large Oklahoma 4-H delegation to participate in 4-H National Congress. Brance earned this trip with an essay he submitted in early April.

It is billed as ‘An educational experience designed to make an impact.’

Brance has attended informative workshops and looks forward to making a difference at Piedmont Park with some community service projects.

Club members are working hard on our workshop projects for Junior Round-up, the next county activity that we will be involved with.

Junior Round-up will be held in Cordell on December 6, 2023.

On October 13th, 8 members of the Burns Flat-Dill City Sr. 4-H club joined the Jr. 4-H club for a pottery workshop in the Will Rodgers Elementary lunchroom.

They made many projects and had fun painting them and sharing them with everyone.

The Washita County Bean Supper fundraiser was held on Monday, October 23, this year was extremely successful and we are looking forward to next year already.

We had a record turnout this year and attendees had good food and great times meeting with community members from across the county.

After eating supper attendees could also go to the show ring of the Cordell Activity Center for the annual carnival with the bean supper, with many games and great prizes it was a lot of fun.

All of the BF-DC Sr. 4-H members attended and helped with different parts of the evenings’ activities.

Kathryn Sirmon, our club president, taught a workshop, with the help of fellow BF-DC Sr. members, to the BF-DC Jr. 4-H club members on Wednesday, November 15th. They did multiple experiments with pumpkins and invisible ink.
