The flip side of that proverb is also true: No one is born foolish!Somewhere between birth and old age, we all make choices which lead us into becoming wise or foolish. So how can we become wise?The Old Testament gives us a case study in acquiring wisdom.

The title is an African proverb. It certainly describes me.Last week I walked into the office of the Cordell Beacon in order to place an ad and I walked out with an invitation to submit articles for the religion column in the newspaper. This is my first contribution.

April 16, 2025 Dear Editor, Thank you so much, I do love getting the Cordell Beacon each week. It has been a long time since my oldest daughter lived in Cordell with my parents JG Lovell and Zola May Lovell.I was born in Cordell but I grew up living in Cloud Chief.

Dill Work and Play OHCE members hold January meeting

The Dill Work and Play OHCE met Jan 14, in the Dill City Community Center, at 1:30, for the first meeting of 2025. Jane Shull called the meeting to order with the Salute to the United States Flag, led by Anita Clayton. Anna Pricket led the group singing The Little Brown Church.

Dill Work and Play OHCE News

The Dill Work and Play OHCE met to start sewing pillowcases for Foster Children on November 11 and 12 from 9 to 3 each day. Representatives from all Washita County OHCE groups met and finished 57 pillowcases and they will be given to Foster Children in the near future.
