Washita County Farm Bureau was recognized with the Six-Star Presidential Award, the highest award the county can receive, for its efforts to further agriculture and rural Oklahoma during Oklahoma Farm Bureau’s 80th Annual Meeting held in November in Norman, Oklahoma.

The six program areas of excellence were in membership, public policy, local affairs, service to members, Women’s Leadership Committee and Young Farmers and Ranchers.

Annual events, events and support provided by the Washita County Farm Bureau include Barnyard Olympics and Livestock Skill-a-thon at the county fair, poster contest, photography contest and financial bonuses at the spring livestock show, Read Ag Accurate books to students, Women’s Day in partnership with Custer County, and Washita County Ag Day for sixth grade students.

The Farm Bureau Board, the Women’s Leadership Committee and the staff of Washita County Farm Bureau would like to thank all of the county members for making these support programs possible.
