The Hobart Bearcats played the last game in their old gym against Cordell, so it seems only fitting that the Lady Blue Devils come to Hobart to help the Bearcats open the new one.

Last Tuesday Cordell played host to the Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs of Minco. Kamdyn Davis opened things up for the Lady Devils with a quick three-pointer, followed by two from Renee Javorsky to give Cordell an early 5-0 lead. Minco battled back and brought the game to a 10-10 tie after one.

The Lady Blue Devils officially opened basketball season in Cordell last week, dropping their home opener to the visiting Oilerettes of Merritt 54-28. Cordell’s girls, with only one senior starter returning from last year’s team, started slowly against the bigger and more experienced Merritt squad.

The Cordell Blue Devils put on one heck of a show in last Tuesday’s season opener at home against Merrit, taking the game to double overtime before coming up on the short end of a 65-57 score. The game opened slowly, with more than two minutes of play elapsed before either team found the bucket.
