The Cordell Junior High boys golf team ended its spring season by winning first place at the Cordell JH Tournament at Crooked Creek Golf Course.
The Blue Devils faced a competitive field of 11 schools and 63 golfers. They were ready to play on their home course and finished ahead of runner -up Merritt.
Cordell was led by a trio of standout individual performances at the top of the leaderboard. Lucas Bynum claimed medalist honors with an outstanding round of 34 (-2). Close behind, Jaxon Davis and Bentley White, each fired rounds of 35 (-1) to secure second and third place. Braxton Campbell rounded out the scoring for the Blue Devils with a nin th-place finish at 45 (+9).
Colt Shelton of Canute placed fourth overall with a score of 37 (+1), highlighting the array of competition throughout the field.
Cordell coaches and players thanked those who made the event possible. They especially praised the volunteers at Crooked Creek Golf Course for their support and commended Valerie Farris for providing meals and organizing the tournament.
