Blue Devil Band headed to State!

On a successful note, Cordell Blue Devil Band loaded the bus and headed to the State competition on Tuesday morning. Supporters lined the downtown square to cheer them on as they departed town. As of press time, the band had not given their performance, but next week’s Beacon will have an update!

Mayor Phil Kliewer (center) presented special awards to Cordell PD’s Officer Marty Miller and citizen Eddie Ramsey for their heroic efforts during a search and recovery for Piper, an Australian Shepherd. Also receiving an award was Dustin Pool, who works in Cordell’s Electric Department.

On Par for Success

On Tuesday, March 31, the Cordell Junior High Boys Golf team competed in the Elk City Junior High Tournament and produced a strong outcome. Cordell tied Elk City for first place, both finishing with a team score of 178.
