The members of the Cordell FFA Chapter have been hard at work, with no signs of slowing down. Advisor Tiffany Taton has a full calendar for the start of the new year.

Two of Cordell’s own, Cheyann Edison, Freshman, and McKenna Wedel, Sophomore and Vice President of the chapter, participated in the Southwest Oklahoma Show Pig Series. This consisted of five shows that took place from Dec. 28, 2019, through Jan. 25, 2020. Cheyann Edison was one of the top five competitors in the Spot breed pigs, and Mckenna Wedel was one of the top five in Chester breed pigs. They will attend the banquet for the Southwest Oklahoma Show Pig Series on March 8, where they will receive jackets for their outstanding achievement.

The FFA officer team will travel to OKC to participate in FFA Day at the Capitol on Feb. 18, where our officers will get the chance to mingle with fellow members of the FFA and meet with state representatives.

The Area Livestock show will be held from Feb. 11-15 at Chickasha, and the Washita County Livestock show will take place at the Cordell Activity Center from Febr. 23-25. National FFA Week is almost upon us as well, starting Feb. 23. To celebrate and show appreciation, the chapter will provide lunch to the Cordell School Teachers on Thursday, Feb. 27. In addition to these events, The Oklahoma Youth Expo will take place from March 9 through 20.
