Cordell’s wrestling season nearly came to an end this past weekend at the regional tournament held in Geary. Sophomore Shane Perkins may be moving ahead, though, as he finished in sixth place, which earned his a spot as an alternate for the state meet.
Cordell’s coach, Dillon Ball, was pleased with Perkins’ performance on the mat.
“He wrestled really well and has an extremely bright future considering that he’s just a sophomore,” he said.
In addition to Perkins, in the 182 pound weight class, Cordell was represented by Aiden Middendorf at 120 pounds, James Guffey at 145 pounds, Andru Kraber at 152 pounds, Mike Rennison at 160 pounds, and Dillon Stultz at 170.
