The Lady Blue Devil Softball team is coming off of a busy week, having played four games within a five day span. Despite the courageous effort put forth by the girls, they were unable to bring home a win.

The first game of the jam-packed week, played against the Sentinel Bulldogs on Monday night, held a final score of 4-3, Cordell being the losing team.

Head Coach Whitney Misak reported, “The girls never gave up, they worked hard.” She said, ”I can't ask for anything more.”

On Tuesday night, the Devils played two district games, both against the Hobart Bearcats, both ending in a loss. The first game ended with a score of 19-0, the second ended 13-0.

Misak told The Beacon, ”Hobart is probably one of the best teams we will see all season.” She said, “The first inning was by far our worst, but we definitely got better every inning after that.”

Misak also credited Senior Andrea Palmer on her leadership and perseverance throughout the games.

Later in the week, the Lady Devils played two games in the Arapaho tournament, one against the Binger-Oney Bobcats, and the latter against the Arapaho-Butler Indians.

The final scores for the games are as follows: 15-0 Binger-Oney vs. Cordell, and 1-7 Cordell vs. Arapaho-Butler

Head Coach Whitney Misak told The Beacon, “We played a couple of good teams at this tournament that exposed some of our weaker areas, both on the field and hitting.”

Hopes for the rest of the season appear to remain high with Misak commenting, “All of the mistakes that occurred are fixable, and the girls are on the right track trying to correct those areas within their game.”
