As winter weather began moving in, blood donors began cancelling appointments and blood drives were delayed, forcing an already struggling blood supply to critically low levels. Our Blood Institute (OBI) in Oklahoma is asking donors to reschedule appointments as the weather clears.

2023 has started with a lots of activity and things happening at CMH. As you have read in last week’s news the Clinton hospital closed at noon on December 31 and we began to receive patients in our ED.

The doctors, nurses and Cordell Memorial Hospital (CMH) staff members are handling an influx of new patients due to the temporary closing of the Clinton hospital at midnight on December 31, 2022, when Alliance Health’s lease officially ended. The City of Clinton is working jointly with Carrus Health, the new manager of their hospital, to ensure the hospital will be up and running as early as possible. However, that opening could be months away.
