August is Health Observance Month and this includes Family Fun Month. It is a busy time for families during August with school starting and getting into the routine of school activities.

The aspects of Health Observance Month is that we continue summer sun safety by avoiding dehydration, protecting our eyes from the sun and protecting our skin. Everyone is outside as much in August as in the other months of summer, we still have days of summer high temperatures so protect yourself.

Make happiness happen is something to do in August by simply being a smile starter, think of ways you can spread happiness/ cheer to others. That can include sharing your smile, giving kudos and/or letting people know how much you appreciate them. For yourself make a list, what makes you happy and seek those things out to bring you joy.

One more for August is family fun month, now with school starting you may think this could be hard but it is probably the most important time to spend time as a family. Nothing is more important than investing in your family relationship, take time to be together and have fun. Starting school is stressful even if you have done it many times but we all learn something new with each start. Please take the time to be together and grow together.

I will have exciting things to share in September about a new service as well as keep you informed of the services we provide at CMH.

We are one team caring for you and at any time that you have questions or want to share please do not hesitate to call me.
