Summer League T-ball wrapped up this past week with a grand slam of smiles, sunshine, and six teams full of future MVPs who proved that sometimes, the biggest victories come in the smallest cleats.
Four teams from Cordell and two from Burns Flat brought their best to the diamond over the past several weeks, along with the cutest batting stances, most dramatic base running, and at least one mid-game dance-off in the outfield.
Though no official scores were kept, with all the “accidental” base detours, every team ended the season a winner. And thanks to the league’s generosity, each little slugger went home with a shiny medal.
Parents cheered, coaches encouraged, and at least one grandma was spotted waiting with a juice box in hand because in T-ball, hydration and hugs are equally important.
As the sun set on another T-ball season, one thing was clear: these kids came to play and play they did.
