Cordell Memorial Hospital (CMH) has officially opened its new Women’s Health Clinic on Tuesday, May 21, a comprehensive women’s healthcare facility. Conveniently located in the Specialty Clinic at 1109 N Glenn English St., just across the street from the hospital, it offers a wide variety of services, from preventive measures and testing to prenatal and postpartum care, ensuring that all your healthcare needs are met.
Establishing the Women’s Health Clinic proves their commitment to the women of Washita County. It is a direct response to the needs expressed in community assessments from 2017 and 2023, as well as the invaluable conversations they’ve had with women in the community. CMH wants every woman, regardless of age, to feel that this clinic is a resource and a place to receive care and guidance for any event in their life. Their ultimate goal is to positively impact women’s health in Western Oklahoma.
CMH is dedicated to providing the best care locally available to its community and surrounding areas. The Women’s Health Clinic is a testament to this commitment, offering a wide array of services that cater to the unique healthcare needs of women. From pregnancy testing, pap smears and weight management to hormone issues, menopausal care, and girls’ sports physicals, they’ve got you covered. They also provide essential services that women may have neglected due to unavailability. These include prenatal care, postpartum care, Gene-Sight screening, BioTE, preventive services, birth control, menstrual issues, breast issues, STD testing, and MyRisk hereditary cancer test.
“Delivery is important, but prenatal care is of the utmost importance so that mom and baby are ready for delivery. We want young mothers to feel comfortable getting started, and we will transition them to their OB physician. In response to prenatal care, so many times, this is missed and results in negative or difficult outcomes. The clinic will provide care but also resources to help firsttime mothers and young mothers with questions and the support they need during the exciting but sometimes scary time in their lives,” expressed Laird.
The Women’s Health Clinic will host a meet and greet on Thursday, May 23, for anyone who may have questions regarding the services, tour the clinic, and meet the providers Abby Parker, APRN-CNP; Aprill Ridgeway, APRN FNP-C; and Lela Cupp, APRN-CNM.
